PURPOSE

Project KARE is a fundraising entity structured exclusively for charitable and educational purposes, more specifically to address the needs of abused, neglected or dependent children and their families in Stark County.  Project KARE also provides support to Stark County Job & Family Services’ (SCJFS) foster and adoptive parent recognition efforts.

Although the organization addresses the needs of children and families served by Stark County JFS, Children Services Division, it is not a sub-organization of and is autonomous from Stark County JFS, Children Services Division.  The Children Services Division of Stark County JFS is a tax supported public agency legally designated to investigate and respond to allegations of child abuse in Stark County, Ohio.

HISTORY

Project KARE received its tax exempt status on March 13, 2007.  On May 23, 2012 the Articles of Organization were amended to include the support of foster parent recognition activities.  These were activities previously supported by another 501c3, The Foster Parent Fund. In 2012 The Foster Parent Fund merged with and became of part of Project KARE.
